The shaping machine is a CET design built in our workshops to Australian plans. Tris re-awakened his shaper's eye and now brings "centuries" of experience to assist in originals, copies and series models.
Lee Bartlett had a quiver which evolved from a copy of his favourite board; with a few surfs and consequent minor tweaks followed by a few more surfs and tweaks; he arrived at what he described as the "best, liveliest and most reactive boards I've owned to date". You can't expect any shaper to perfectly duplicate a board: only a machine can do that. As our machine has a drum cutter rather than a router it is unable to shape concaves or turn the bottom of the rail but it shouldn't take you long to do that as it is a lot easier/quicker to clean up and finish.

We have put together a few surfboard kits that may suit your requirements. If they don't, you are welcome to take your trolley round our site and fill it as you see fit.

Generally you will need around 5kg of polyurethane resin per board. You will also need 1% - 2% by volume of Catalyst and also some Wax with some of the processes.

Epoxy Resin comes with its own Hardener (Catalyst) which is added at the rate of 390g Hardener to 1kg Glass One Epoxy Resin and 380g Hardener to 1kg Surf Clear Epoxy Resin. It is very important the lid is kept on the Hardener, as much as possible. Wax is not used with Epoxy Resin.

Glass fibre comes in different weights and widths depending on the use you require. Wider boards require wider fibre. Usual glassing combinations may be a 4 & 6oz combo for the deck and a 4oz on the bottom, although you can use whatever you want at the end of the day. Required per board = (length of board + 30cm) x 3

Additional products 'some required' to work with the resin and glass fibre. These are dangerous products that should be used with extreme caution.
